contd:- -2- part of the system. The brakes themselves and their shoes will be the same as in EAC.111. except that there will be a stout shaft passing through the crankchamber so that only a short operating shaft will be on each side of the front axles. The front axle in all cases is to be controlled by the front springs and to be tried with 25% stiffer springs than our standard, the road springs being 45" instead of 42", and anchored at the rear end, straight solid eyes and second plate as long as is found desirable and practical. The solid eyes may be above the plate as Woodheads shew. When the experiments in hand are complete we shall know more about consistent ordinary brakes - i.e. variations due to bedding and surface.
