Origin.
To increase area of friction for damping the links.
Experimental Test Report.
Friction remains more constant with the increased area - load can be definitely set by the castellated nut.
Road Test Report.
10,000 miles in France on 12-EX car.
Friction of links remained constant with the increased area of load of 50 lbs. at end of lever G.72513 and was found to give the best results i.e. prevent thumping of front brakes.
A Scrap and replace at all costs including Chassis already delivered to customers.
B Scrap and replace on Chassis in works.
C Scrap present stock and replace on all Chassis not yet handed to test.
D Use existing stock Alteration effective on future Chassis.
