With reference to the servo brake operation we have wired you suggesting that the existing standard cam angle should be retained on the proposed 2" levers on the servo shaft. This is in accordance with R1/M25.11.26 in which R.{Sir Henry Royce} suggests that the power of the servo should be reduced 25%. If this is found successful on EAC. 7. we suggest that it would be the best way of obtaining the proposed reduced front braking on the std. car., and is preferable to altering the length of the levers on the front brake differential shaft. This latter proposal, by tending to reduce the angle of movement through which the servo works, reduces its effectiveness without giving any relief from the point of view of pressure per sq.in., and wear. The use of the shorter levers retains the present movement of the servo with a reduced pressure, and so gives improved wear and probably more constancy in service.
