To War. from BJ. To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from BJ. To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from BJ. To EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} from BJ. To PN{Mr Northey} from BJ. To CWB from BJ. Re Bt.{Capt. J. S. Burt - Engineer} 118-MC. BJ9/E30/6/26 The attached report is exceedingly interesting as it concerns one of our latest cars which has been for an ordinary tour of 2,800 miles and we have the advantage of receiving a frank report from the owner on how it behaved. One feels also that we are fortunate in the fact that the owner is an employee of the Company and will not talk to likely customers of his experiences, which certainly appear to have been most unfortunate, and we can only hope that this is not a sample of the experiences of other owners. One feels this must be an exceptionally unfortunate experience as, out of the many hundreds of these cars that have been delivered, we appear to receive very few complaints from the owners. It is specially interesting however to read concerning the experience of boiling and that it can only be avoided by doing away with one of the features for which RR cars are so noted, namely, their silent powerful running on top gear, and it is to be hoped that we shall improve in our radiating arrangements as time goes on, as we appear to be behind a large number of other cars in this respect.
