Rear Spare Wheel Carrier.

Referring to R1/M6.10.27, where R.{Sir Henry Royce} suggests we should always supply complete Spare Wheel Carrier and Luggage Grid included in the chassis price or as a standard extra, the decision arrived at before was that we would supply as standard the pressed extensions to the Side Members, with the Rear Cross Tube and fixings necessary for the addition of a Rear Spare Wheel Carrier.

At the time this proposal was put forward, it was thought that the Spare Wheel Carrier would be stiffened up independent of the Luggage Grid. R.{Sir Henry Royce} considers, however, that the best way to overcome the trouble with the Spare Wheel Carrier is to stay it to the Cross Guard Rail of the Luggage Grid. This represents in itself the basic reason for R's suggestion.

The importance, of course, of having the Spare Wheel at the rear from the point of view of improved riding certainly justifies some expenditure in this direction.
