Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/AD. September 15th, 1931. M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Olley Esq. Cadillac Motor Car Co. Detroit, Michigan. Dear Cy, Thank you for your interesting letter. Your remarks about the wealth of the poor and the poverty of the rich are singularly suitable for conditions in this country at the moment with an additional 6d. on the income tax. Our only difficulty is to reconcile Rolls-Royce durability and finish with the price which is compatible with a big production. Thank you for the information re masked valves, Buick dampers etc. I wonder whether you can give me any information on the most satisfactory method in use for remote control of the hydraulics. We have seen and tested Delco adjustable hydraulics and are satisfied that this method of obtaining variable loading is for the present, at any rate, a very excellent compromise, but are interested to know the methods at present in use to connect this control to the dashboard. We attach an advertisement from this month's S.A.E. Journal about which you might possibly be able to send us some information. | ||
