To BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} from EH. X.3504 EH1/LG26.6.19. 26th. June 1919. Attached herewith is a copy of a provisional specification of a device for securing cars against theft. You will notice that this device is in a way similar to your idea for locking on the brakes, only in this case, it is intended to lock the transmission. The disadvantage in this scheme would be to get a very positive arrangement so that it could never, by any chance, drop in the mesh when the car was running. Of course it would have to be secured by means of a Yale lock. The idea of short circuiting the magneto, I think would be of very little value. EH. | ||
