8th November 1927. BY1/G.8.11.27. Messrs. North & Sons Ltd., Whippendell Road, Watford. Dear Sirs, MAGNETOS. As a result of our experience with the Sleeveless Magneto of which you have supplied us with two or three experimental machines, we have decided that in the near future we shall standardise same, as a matter of fact standardisation sheets are actually being circulated to the responsible people at our Works at the present moment. We are giving you this information in order that you may be able to put yourselves in a position in the near future to accommodate us in this direction, and possibly for F.2 series which we are at present ordering you may find it possible to supply magnetos of the new design to us. We would like you to let us know whether it is possible from your point of view to produce the next series of magnetos for the Phantom engine of the new type. This particular enquiry is for the moment tentative to find out your actual position in the matter, and we would like you to let us know exactly where you stand in regard to the matter of producing the new machines and what commitments have been made for the next series for the old type. Yours faithfully, TECHNICAL PRODUCTION ENGINEER. FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
