Bye-Pass Oil Filter Oil leaks have been experienced from the seam round the middle of the A.C. filter body. We have therefore fitted the new spare A.C. filter sent out with the car and have returned the faulty one to you under seperate cover for inspection. Enclosed herewith are blotting paper samples. one taken when the car arrived at Châteauroux, having covered 536 miles since the "Mobiloil A" was put in, and the other when the filter was removed, a further 2,132 miles having been run. Both samples look pretty dirty in test tubes. There is no record in the log-book of the filter having been changed since the car came out of the Fitting shop on 6.1.38. If it was new on this date, it has run 4,826 miles altogether. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW.{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux} Ivanlu. wallr. | ||
