Sn.{Mr Sanderson} Hr. Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} Mr.Maddocks. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} EPC. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Sft.{Mr Swift} Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} The Works Committee met this afternoon to discuss the Minutes of the Conference held at the Offices of Messrs Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby, on the 22nd June 1931, between members of the Works Committee including Mr.Northey, and the Lucas Electrical Co.Ltd. represented by Mr.Oliver Lucas and Mr.Ireland. The Minutes of this Conference were drawn up by Messrs Lucas copies of which have been distributed and are attached for R.{Sir Henry Royce} and CJ. Those members of the Rolls-Royce Works Committee who were present at the conference with Messrs Lucas on the 22nd inst. agree that the Minutes correctly record what occurred at that conference. The Works Committee are of the opinion that with regard to the paragraph referring to Fuses this matter should be left for the consideration of the Experimental Dept. who will refer it to R.{Sir Henry Royce} Six sets of the new E.G.O. type brush have arrived and have been handed to the Experimental Dept. to be tested out. With regard to the letter from the Lucas Electrical Co. dated 25th inst. copies of which have been distributed, and which are attached hereto for R.{Sir Henry Royce} and CJ. the Committee are of the opinion that Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} should interview Messrs Lucas with a view to inducing them to withdraw their suggestion that we should pay £7.15.0 for the conversion of the 100 to 150 Dynamos which lie finished at their (Lucas') Stores to the 1" longer type. The Committee are of the opinion that the payment for conversion should apply only to Dynamos which we return from here to Lucas. | ||
