Dear Mr. Salt,

I tried to get you on the telephone today, but unfortunately the conversation was broken off by someone before we could get matters squared up.

We are very anxious to know whether any progress has been made with the 48 VI carburetter, and we are equally anxious to help all we possibly can.

It was to obtain information on those two points that I rang you up this afternoon.

In my last letter we offered to send along another carburetter incorporating variable progression jets, in order that you may try out the effect of those on the progression period.

We now have one or two of our experts available, and as far as we are concerned the present is a very opportune time for looking into the matter.
