EX. FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} (AT Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence.) STRICTLY SECRET. R1/M12.4.32. Sent from WW. 14.3.32. c. to GG. WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} W. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} JAPAN 3. x5770. x4283. Both Sales and Works appear to wish for J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} 3. to be left-handed. Kindly do the necessary work. Personally I should prefer to get along quickly and finish it now that it is so nearly useable -(i.e. adopt it or scrap it - ) and probably so much better in performance etc than 'China'. What it entails I hardly know but it will want a new central change gearbox, and a completely new chassis drawing. I intended to have written about the Bensport gearbox. I cannot see that this needs any different reverse to the other cars, and think that it would be quite difficult to tell if one picked up the reverse on 1st. speed or not, if arranged exactly as I intended, - i.e. if our scheme is good enough for the 3 RRs. it should be also for Bensport.
