Item 14. Copper parts affected by U.S.A. Gasoline.

The following is an extract of Mr. Platford's report on the above.
"The gas contains sulphuric acid and other muck - have asked Allen to send analysis etc. (which does not agree with the stuff used by Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} used for his carburetter tests). I find the floats affected and flaked copper oxide forms and drops into the float chamber and then into the jets. What action is being taken re using monel metal - some instructions are required on this job. Also for the filter next to the carburetter. CY says the one on 4.X proved too small.
