Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/MJ14-3-30. The position is, that because of the
increase in the upsweep of the Phantom II chassis frame, we are anxious
to find a really shallow cushion which will yet give the comfort our
customers want..

If we can find a shallow cushion which gives greater comfort than
the cushions we have hitherto had, so much the better.

In our investigations we have come across the Paxon air cushion
which is described in the attached leaflet and this is what Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} has in
mind.

When he was here earlier in the week we told him we had had one car
equipped with Paxon pneumatic cushions and, so far as we have been able
to tell, they appear to be very comfortable.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} expressed the opinion that similar cushions might be of
/are assistance in some cases of springing complaints and we/endeavouring to
obtain one for you to try. We will let you know the result in due
course.
