Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}15/KW. 28.5.34.

(5) Your cornering must indeed be lurid if you go fast enough to stop the signalling devices operating. However, we accept your criticism and will see what can be done.

(6) Can you fit this up yourself ? I admit my memory fails me too.

(7) We flattered ourselves that our petrol gauge was pretty good as we use a three-wire scheme and voltage regulator, so that there is no reason why it should not be much more accurate than the single wire instruments which vary with the voltage of the battery. If it is really inaccurate you can get it changed when the car comes back here. We hope that the reserve will prevent its inaccuracy proving disastrous!

(8) You will note that our petrol pump consists of two units in which all the moving parts, such as contact breakers, toggle actions etc, are duplicated. If one pump goes out of action you will find that you cannot do more than 60 m.p.h. The idea of this is that you can always get home and have the trouble rectified. I hope this will console you!

(19) If you will put on record to London, Conduit Street, that you are sure you would like a higher compression ratio, we will advise you if and when it is standardised.

(10) Instruments are a curse. I really think the only way to get what you want is to call in at Smith's and get them to alter your own instruments from the table which you have made.

I am very glad to hear that you are thinking of coming over to see us. Please let me know when we may expect you. If you ring up we can probably arrange a mutually convenient date.

I hope Barnes will prove to be a useful man.

Yours sincerely,
