To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} X7010 BHsl/LG29.6.29. 'SS{S. Smith}' CRANKSHAFTS. We recommend that we hold up machining the chamfer on the crank pins. Tests we have made measuring the stiffness of the shafts indicate that the addition of this chamfer considerably decreases the stiffness. These results will be confirmed in a day or two. In the meantime we recommend that the operation of machining the chamfer on the shafts should be suspended. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
