Dear Manning,

I haven't bothered you for sometime. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} and I want to try two Studebakers, one 1938 with vacuum-assisted gear change, and one 1937 with inertia type over-drive. In the latter, the engagement of overdrive or direct depends on whether the throttle is opened slowly or quickly. Do you think you could find one of each on Wednesday, the 22nd, morning around 10.0.?

All to be above board as to who we are. If necessary you may suggest we might buy one in the future if they come up to expectations.

With apologies for worrying you,

Yours sincerely,
