London N.W.1.

Dear Sirs,

Referring to your letter dated 16th. June ref. APJ/MG. This letter has been passed on to us by our London House.

We should like to know whether the tyres you mention are the beaded edge or straight-sided tyres.

We have, in the past, frequently carried out tests on our Experimental cars for Tyre Manufacturers. We supply them with a Report every fortnight of the mileage they have run and the condition they are in. We also send the car to the Tyre people periodically, so that they can examine the condition of the tyres.

When we carry out these tests, however, we expect to have the tyres supplied free of charge.

We should also like to know what pattern tread you are using on these new tyres. We have found on a previous Avon tyre that it was impossible to carry out any tests because of the noise caused by the tread.

Yours faithfully,
