drip plugs (S.S.) would be dependent on it. We base our correct lubrication on the No.0. size drip plugs receiving 5 drops of oil per shot of the pump. Since with the increased demand there would be 17 of this size, each taking 1.01% of the total quantity of the pump, they would only be getting 3 1/4 drops per shot with the present pump N.Sch.2830. To increase their consumption to 5 drops per shot, the pump capacity should be increased to 25 ccs (500 drops).

The pump container should also be increased to hold 1000 ccs of oil, so that it might be emptied in 40 shots.

We think we may prefer to attempt the rear axle alone on these lines as a preliminary. This is certainly the more important of the two, as access to it is only had after great inconvenience in removing the rear seats and floorboards and scrambling for the nipple, which at the best of times is filthy.

We should say, however, that we have every justification from our own experience, and the success of competitors to make very determined experiments to overcome the shortcomings of a complete one-shot system.
