PHANTOM 11.

We have obtained the experimental pair of deeper side members for P.11., which were instructed by you for the purpose of trying out whether the deeper frame would result in better control of the front end of the chassis.

It appears to us that it is necessary to have some different treatment of the method of fixing the cross members to the side members in order to ensure that we obtain the maximum advantage from the use of the deeper frames in question.

We have not overlooked the fact that R.{Sir Henry Royce} has asked for a cross in the frame to be tried again, but we think that since the new side members are actually available the two experiments ought to go through together.
