Re: Chassis 114-GN - Dr.Bastianelli Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}/HAW1/MWS.10.31. ------------------ I note contents of your memo and that you really think the Dr's.complaints are justified. I also note the work you propose carrying out which seems to be quite in order and when you send us details of the costs we will decide what we feel we can ask the Dr.to pay for. There is one point, however, I would like you to consider, and that is whether,in view of his rather bitter complaint of insufficient power, you think you will be able to give him what he requires by the work you propose carrying out, or whether it is worth considering fitting the different type of cylinder head, as fitted to Sir Ernest Horlick's car and one or two others. We have this morning heard from Barker's that the Dr.is now convinced that we are going to do something for him and he is talking about a Continental model, so that we would like him to be impressed with this car when he gets it back. Barker's also say that there is a Brooks trunk on the offside platform step which they have instructions to alter to some considerable extent. Will you please send this trunk to Barker's at once, so that they may carry out these alterations As regards the radiator shutters, we note that you propose fitting nickel-finish shutter vanes instead of the present matt finish vanes.
