X.1583 RECEIVED. OCT 14 Q.F.P. Hsl/LG. C. C. Wakefield & Co., Wakefield House, Cheapside, London E.C.2. 13th. Oct. 1920. Gentlemen, We anticipate that we shall be recommending our Customers shortly to use Wakefields Castrol "R" Oil on their Rolls-Royce Cars. We should like your experts' opinion on what they consider will be the effect if customers mix Castrol "R" with the average lubricating oils sold for cars. We have been running some of our own cars for some time using partly Castrol "R" and partly ordinary mineral oil. Although these oils do not go into solution, we find that in passing through the pump they are mixed thoroughly. So far, we have not been able to find any disadvantage with mixing oils. We should be very grateful, however, of the opinion of your experts of what troubles we might expect if this practice is used. Yours faithfully, R.R. 288A (100. 10'S) (T & S) 109.
