Can you let us have a little more information re your complaints of the SpectreCodename for Phantom III front suspension ? A rough sketch would be very useful. The trouble is, you are testing the only set of front shock absorbers which resemble the production parts. I understand the complaints are :- (a) Top triangular brackets hitting the frame on full rebound; (b) Oil leaks. 1/4 pint lost in 1800 miles. I am not quite clear if this is from the damper reservoir or the governor system. (c) Top of the yoke piece hits the 2BA bleeding set screw on the alum; casing for the bellows. (d) Clearance for rear wishbone lever. Is this sideways clearance between the lever and the front tray which supports the centre steering lever ? (e) The reservoir oil leak from the frame joint - is this between the frame and the alum; bronze casting, or between the frame and the steel dome. We realise your trouble with the clips on the front end of the rear springs hitting the frame. We are having the front end of the rear springs lowered .875" to overcome this trouble. Longer and softer axle buffers will also be fitted. Will these alterations overcome your present suspension troubles from the rear of the car ? Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.{Ivan A.
