x To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.7/MH.{M. Huckerby}14.9.37. 300w 32-EX.CAR. While this car is stripped we want to examine the following parts:- (1) Radiator - (a) Steam valve should be checked. (b) the matrix unit is to be removed and the top and bottom tanks removed from the matrix. The bottom tank must be removed with great care, since we wish to examine the standard of workmanship of the dip-soldered fixing of the bottom tank to the matrix, which has been done by dip-soldering. (c) Shutter bearings (top & bottom) The matrix itself should not be cleaned in any way, either internally or externally, as we wish to inspect it for choking etc. When the unit is stripped will you please notify Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. (2) Rubber hose connections - these should be handed to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. for examination. (3) Cylinder water jackets - the liners should be removed from the crankcase so that we can examine the latter for corrosion. (4) The water pump should be inspected for end play of rotor and then stripped for examination. (5) The oil cooler matrix unit should be handed to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. for examination. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. | ||
