With reference to the attached correspondence EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}9/W4214 re Bonnets, the present bonnets are certainly very difficult to close, and I should strongly advise that the springs are not made any stronger. The new type bonnet has not yet been standardised, but springs on this bonnet, by the way, are much stronger than the standard, and I think that in view of the fact, that we propose to standardise this bonnet very shortly, this matter should be left over.

Bonnets similar to the above mentioned, are fitted on 2704 (Experimental), chasses 2 EB and 51 EB, and is instructed for 58 NA.{Mr Nadin}
