X4261 c. to Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ✔ Cyc-Motor. EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} /Thn15/020.4.23. Re. Nicholls' 20-HP. Trials Car - 46-G6. With reference to your memo' Sg {Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} 15/BM/19.4.23. with enclosures, we cannot quite understand the opening paragraph of your letter to Capt. Pelham-Clinton of the 10th.instant. According to the specification of this chassis when on test it was to be fitted with a Saloon body, and in consequence had springs fitted suitable for closed car. We have at the present time two types of springs only, i.e. front springs 550 lbs. and rear springs 800 lbs (fitted for open bodies), and front springs 600 lbs. and rear springs 900 lbs. (fitted for closed bodies.) We have just recently agreed to slightly strengthen up both the front and the rear springs on cars for abroad. We do not know of any reason why the springs should be changed on this car especially as it would appear from Capt. Pelham-Clinton's letter of the 13th.instant that the customer is so pleased with the springing. EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} /Thn. | ||
