GOSHAWK 11. BODY BRACKETS ETC. X.3730

Herewith we send N.sch.1480 shewing improvements in the body brackets to prevent buckling the side channels, and to avoid the runner twisting owing to insufficient heel in the brackets. We expect that you will like to put these brackets on as soon as possible as we understand the existing brackets are giving trouble.

In addition to this we shew an extra cross member at the top of the rear joggle which also assists in preventing the frame rolling over, to which we also attach the battery. It will be noticed that the battery box has been lengthened. It will be necessary to pack the battery up with wood or similar light packing.

This new cross member can be fitted to existing cars and to avoid altering the battery box the existing battery suspension can be retained if the occasion should arise. It is not possible however to change the body brackets.

We should like an experimental set of these brackets together with the cross member and battery suspension fitted up as soon as possible, as we should prefer a trial before they are put into production. The body on which this trial takes place should if possible be a new one, and probably a trials body. In any case we should be much obliged if we could be consulted before the body is chosen.

Would BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} please send us our prints of this scheme as early as possible, and also send a print to LHS.{Lord Herbert Scott}
