Dear Sidgreaves,

Just as you rang up today I was going to write to you.

I had a good chance to test the car out thoroughly last Sunday and did about 300 miles. I must say I have never known it go so well. There was absolutely no symptom of any missing or knocking, and the car seemed to me to be much more silent and very much smoother than I have ever known it, and this appears to have been arrived at without any loss of power. I sincerely hope it remains like this.

I do feel that they have got to the bottom of the trouble now since the car has never felt so excellent before. I shall look forward to seeing you on the 9th.

I am so pleased that I have decided to venture abroad with the car this summer. I must get in touch with the Service Station to see what they recommend that one should take away with one. The only thing that really worries me are the petrol pumps. Some time ago you mentioned that there was a new fitting whereby one could test each pump individually. I feel that I should get this fitted to the car. Anyhow, perhaps you would give me the benefit of your advice when we meet.

Very many thanks indeed for all the trouble I know you must have taken personally to get the experimental department on to the problem.

With kind regards,

Yours sincerely,

(Sgd.) E.C. Dodds.
