I am glad that you have found the analysis of our costs of some interest, and if there is any further information that would be helpful, and you will let me know, I will try and obtain it. I am having great difficulty in making up my mind about the new car. One feature which has just occurred to me is that if it is much longer than my existing motor I could not get it into my garage, as there is only an inch or two to spare on my present car. In order that this point might be cleared up could you let me know the over-all length. I suppose it is impossible to get any idea as to what the Administration would propose to charge for the new car, or what you think could be obtained for my present one, which was delivered in May 1936 and has done just over 50,000 miles. From the appearance point of view it is practically as good as new, having had the usual careful attention that my motor cars always get. I know that you suggest that if you were me you would make the change, but against this I have met one or two people who cast certain doubts on the ethics of buying a new expensive motor car under present conditions. | ||
