X.4050 OCT 29 1920 g F.E To Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/LG29.10.20. X.4050 RE DUNLOP STRAIGHT-SIDED TYRES. We attach herewith a letter from Mr. Northey ref:- PN{Mr Northey}25/DN/28.10.20. You will see that he does not agree to running with straight-sided tyres chiefly because of the noise they make. We have sent an experimental car to Birmingham and have demonstrated this noise to Mr. Bond (Messrs. Dunlops Development Supt:). He quite agrees with the noise and says they will have to make some alteration. In view of this we should like you to suggest to Messrs. Dunlop that they take back the tyres which Mr. Northey has been running because we find that they are unsuitable for our cars. We think they should do this free of charge, or at any rate, only charge us for the mileage these tyres have run. It is just as much their interest as ours for them to produce tyres which will satisfy us. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
