G.W. Hancock, Esq., Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre, France. X 45539 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Bwg.{J. C. Bowring}4/KW.1.8.34. We are despatching to you to-day two new Petrol Pump Diaphragms. With regard to the cut diaphragms you refer to and a sample of which you sent us. The cutting was not effected by the rollers, but was intentionally done by the S.U. Co. with the idea of giving the diaphragms more flexibility. We were only recently informed of this and luckily only a few pumps have gone through with these cut diaphragms, which will be changed over. Referring to the conductor which is clamped under the bolt head and which has been cut through. This was fastened in this manner as there was no room for a Ross Courtney terminal; however, we are in touch with the S.U. Co. re this matter at the present moment.
