Minutes of Meeting.

will be fitted to the next English 10,000 miles test car and is approved for America subject to the completion of our usual tests.

(11). Battery.

This covers the question of 6 volt or 12 volt, and after discussion it was decided that we should adhere to 12 volt on the chassis for America. We are opposed on technical grounds to the 6 volt system.

It is understood that the main reason why America press for 6 volts is because of service. There are, however, large numbers of English Phantom chassis in America with 12 volts in respect of which the service appears to be obtainable.

Battery Position. Whatever is the best position should be the same for both cars, and we do not know of a better position than the one adopted by us.

(12). Tools.

This really is a matter to be dealt with in conjunction with coachwork.

(13). Lubrication.

(a). Extra lubrication at starting. We propose adopting this.

(b). Lubrication of clutch coupling. We propose doing this from the gearbox.

(c). Chassis lubrication. We agree with Oy's comments but we should connect the axles to the central lubrication scheme. It has already, I understand, been tested for 10,000 miles so that no difficulty should arise.

(14). Luggage Carrier.

It was agreed that there would be no objection to not supplying our standard type of trunk rack but that we should insist on supplying the back wheel carrier but are willing to adapt it to suit the American luggage rack or grid scheme.

At the same time it is considered that there is room/for an improvement in our own luggage carrier and it is understood that DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} is investigatingthis matter.
