In reply to your memo Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}/HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}26/M 17614, we wish to state that we have taken this matter up with Mr Hives and he reports as follows :-

"We should make a set of springs and fit "to this engine, but we should either "have the car in or send one of our men "to fit them, there might be something "wrong which is causing the springs to "break, washers under the springs for "instance would do it. Once they are "on I should not advise changing them."
