Y/282. S/W Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} C4/C11.2.31 RECEIVED 3 FEB. 1931 Re Carless, Capel & Leonard. I enclose copy of memo. I sent to Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} in November last (C4/C11.11.30) in regard to the above Company's aviation spirit. Young Mr.Leonard is very insistent. We were able to keep him quiet at that time by giving him an order for 500 gallons of petrol for chassis work. but as regards aviation spirit Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} pointed out at the time that he could not go further into this as you were away. Mr.Leonard has now returned to the charge and, solely owing to the fact that the family own six of our cars. I feel that we ought to keep in with him as far as possible, and I do not know what further excuses to make. He now writes to ask if he could see you in regard to this, either in London or in Derby. Perhaps you will please let me know what you think about it, or if there is any very good reason why we cannot use their stuff. C. | ||
