Y4308 To Roy {Sir Henry Royce} /JT. from EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 1/T31.12.28. A.T. SPEEDOMETER B.563. With further reference to the above and the letter from the makers under cover of your Roy {Sir Henry Royce} /JT12/HP29.12.28, I think we had better agree, but under protest, to this invoice. Our protest is that there was an original fault in the instrument which allowed water to enter the instrument. It was not a case of condensation and the fact that the same phenomenon has not occurred in other instruments indicates that it was not a mere coincidence that when the rubber washer was replaced with the joint at the bottom of the instrument, no further trouble was experienced. The instrument has been bench tested since its return and now we find it unsatisfactory due to the fact that the needle is not firm on the spindle but is slipping about. It will, therefore, be necessary for the instrument again to be returned to them, this time EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} with the seal intact. Herewith we hand you instrument in question. | ||
