Y5020 C. to HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Ta. BY/CSB/DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}29.11.28. Re India IV - New Type Spring Drive. Sect:B020. Please receive herewith prints of - E.55090 - Friction Ring.(Damper Wheel), which replaces E.54541. E.55091 - Presser Plate, which replaces E.54551. E.55092 - Washer. Spring(Drive), which replaces E.54546/7. detailed in accordance with Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Ta's request in memo Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Ta3/LD.21.11.28. The cotton duck washer has been detailed from model supplied. The thickness of the washers cannot be guaranteed within very fine limits, so we have allowed an average of .063 in working out the additional thickness required on the friction plates. You will notice there is no definite location either in the bore or on the outside dia: for the cotton duck washer, also the variable thickness of these washers will considerably increase the difficulty of lining up the timing gears. The above details are alternative to those issued in our memo BY/CSB/DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}27.9.37 to L.o.C.2457, and if these meet the requirements of HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Ta, will you please inform us so that we may definitely alter the LOP. to suit.
