261 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 31st May, 1937. Jack Barclay, Esq., George Street, Hanover Square, W.1. Dear Barclay, Thank you for your letter of April 20th, to-gether with silencer particulars. I apologise for not answering it before, but I have been very busy since my return from America. I suggest that it is not necessary for you to tackle both the 25/30 and the Bentley silencers, but that we should get results on one, and, if satisfactory we can go ahead. I am, therefore, enclosing a blueprint of the present Bentley exhaust system, and will await the Experiment-al Silencer with interest. I am looking forward to seeing you again in the near future to hear your latest view on our motor-cars, my own opinion is that in the Phantom III we have a potential winner, but no motor-car was ever produced that did not have some teething troubles during the first two years. Why don't you and your wife come up here by road and spend a night with us while this nice weather is on ? Yours sincerely, | ||
