| ALL COMMUNICATIONS. SHOULD BE ADDRESSED TO THE COMPANY & NOT TO INDIVIDUALS. 262 EXPERIMENTAL DEPT. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}15/JH. 6th May, 1938. E.R. Hall Esq., 53, Berkeley Court, LONDON. N.W.1. Dear Sirs, Mr. Robotham has instructed me to supply you with the necessary plan and elevation drawing for the installation of the engine unit in the boat. Inclosed herewith is a drawing of the crankcase showing the dimensioned position of the front engine feet both in plan and elevation. At the rear end we have pencilled in our suggestion for support brackets and the position they would be. The two support castings in existance on the rear end of the crankcase are not intended to be a permanent support for the engine therefore we do not recommend that the unit be mounted from these but from brackets similar to the ones we have sketch. We hope that this will cover the information you require as there is no comprehensive drawing of a complete engine unit available. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
