H.R. 2352 (to T.) (S.H. 988. 22/2/21.) Bm. 598878. X4388 Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} BY8-P7.7.21. GOSHAWK 11. RE DISCS FOR FRICTION CLUTCHES. The Scandinavia Belting Co, who are supplying us with the fabric for the Clutch Cone, have submitted to us the attached sample of Halo Jointless Friction material. They claim for it that it is not produced as a fabric, woven as a cloth, or made from a pulp. This is not of much importance, but the further claim they make that it is stronger than anything previously tested by us is a matter which demands consideration. The fabric has no wire inserts, and it would be an interesting matter probably to order up enough of this material to produce a clutch for Goshawk 11, purely experimentally, in order to compare with other materials used as frictional mediums.
