Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to BJ. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} X1770 E2/M30. 8.28. EAC.10 ENGINE. X.7090 X.411 X.1770 Referring to your report Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/ACL1/LG28. 8.28., it is concluded that an alteration to the timing would be beneficial, and R.{Sir Henry Royce} would like you to get out at Derby a new exhaust cam utilising the present exhaust for the new inlet. Two new camshafts should be prepared with different angles between the cams giving timing diagrams as follows :- No.1. IN 4 12 EX. 61 DIV. 57 DIV. IN 52 52 EX. Angle between cams = 114º No.2. IN 6 10 EX. 61 DIV. 57 DIV. IN 54 54 EX. Angle between cams = 116º Clearance in both cases = .013 so that timing should shew heavy accelerations only. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
