It is now necessary to release the diaphragm, trying the up and down movement on each full turn, and at the same time applying side pressure to the top of the diaphragm with the thumb. The first setting is found by releasing the diaphragm until the armature first slides over the recess in the top of the pump body with a "click" (that is approx. four turns back). After finding this setting, turn the diaphragm back a further two-thirds of a turn (4 holes) and this gives the final setting. The rollers can now be replaced, making sure they are quite free in position and the pump is ready for re-fitting to the casting. When re-fitting, before the dix retaining nuts are tightened it is essential that the Make and Break toggle pivoting pin is withdrawn, so that the diaphragm can take its natural position. The pin can be easily replaced when the retaining nuts are tight. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Bwg.{J. C. Bowring} | ||
