2617 Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/R.22.4.38. Sir C. Bruce Gardner. With reference to Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}15/E.13.4.38., before the end of the week we shall have handed over to the Repair Dept. sufficient experimental parts for them to complete 90% of a 4¼-litre engine. The remaining 10% they will have to book from production. They anticipate it will take them about a week to complete the engine. Since we have been able to find such a large percentage of the necessary pieces, we recommend that the 3½-litre out of Bruce Gardner's car should be kept intact, and used as a stand-by engine by one of the Service Depots.
