(35) must pay a fee of Frs 5000, including the insurance premiums concerning them as well as the installation in their stand of the fire extinguishing appliances provided for in article 52. The holders of said stands are liable to the same obligations as the competitors, in particular as regards the fines provided for in article 52 of the present regulations which apply to them in every particular. Any damage to the pits will be noted by the organisers. The cost of repairs as assessed by the architect of the A.C.O. will be charged to the holders of the boxes. Applications for such space, together with the above fees, must reach the Automobile-Club de l'Ouest at Le Mans on the 31st. March 1939, at 10 a.m. at latest. After this date, and within the limits of the places available, applications for space at double fees will be accepted and should be received at latest at the same address as above on the 15th. May 1939 at 6 p.m. APPROPRIATION OF FINES Art. 55. - The amount of fines imposed on competitors shall, if occasion arises, be distributed as bonuses to drivers nominated by the race Stewards. BONUSES Art. 56. - The Automobile-Club de l'Ouest permits donors to offer bonuses to competitors or drivers under the conditions set out hereinbelow : 1. - The amount of each bonus shall invariably be Frs 1.000 and must be paid over to the Automobile-Club de l'Ouest at Le Mans, or at the Grand Stand, at latest on Sunday 18th. June an hour and a half before the close of the race. 2. - The bonuses will be announced to the public during the race, the first time during the first 20 hours and a second time during the 21st., 22nd. and 23rd. hours. No announcement will be made during the last hour of the race. The allocation of the bonuses and the wording of the announcement to the public must have the approval of the A.C.O. and of the race Stewards. Two prizes or bonuses from the same donor may not have the same allocation. APPLICATION OF THE REGULATIONS Art. 57. - The events shall be run according to the regulations of the International Association of Recognised Automobile-Clubs (I.A.R.A.C.) and the present regulations. When entering, the competitor states that he is acquainted with the terms of said regulations. He undertakes to comply with them and with any decision of the race Stewards.
