We send herewith drawing No. Lec.1913., shewing particulars of the casing, declutching gear, and other parts.

Referring to the declutching gear, the shaft for this is made from a tube with a central socket brazed in position. It was intended that the shaft should be located by means of first centring the thrust ring from the casing spigot by a suitable rig and centring the hole in the thick aluminium bush for the set screw by means of a long spindle, which it will be noted from a previous drawing will just clear the machined facings on the off side of the box when passed through the tapped hole for locating screw.

This drawing also shews the method of preventing rotation of the reverse shaft ball bearing housing and distance piece. This is carried out by means of a square snug of steel riveted to the die cast aluminium front cover and engaging with slots in thehousing and distance piece. It will be noted that we have arranged two slots in these pieces in diametrically opposite positions. This is for the purpose of turning them with a key and causing their markings to register with similar markings on the case, thereby ensuring that the snug on the front cover will register with the slots when erecting.
