RE 40/50 H.P. CARBURETTOR - LOW SPEED JET SPINDLE.

Would you kindly note that Mr. Royce would like you to standardise the low speed jet spindle of the 40/50 H.P. carburetter in stainless steel.

We have had a case here of this part on chassis 1.EX becoming rusty through the use of hot water on the carburettor for keeping the engine running after starting in frosty weather. It subsequently resulted in the low speed jet sticking up which gave such a rish mixture as to entirely mess up the sparking plugs.

It is thought that there was a move some time ago to make this spindle in stainless steel, but the alteration has apparently never been standardised.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
