DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/LV. FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} (At Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence.) BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} SECRET. ORIGINAL R1/M1.2.29. REC'D AT WW. 5.2.29. Copy to - SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} " " WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} " " E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} SS.{S. Smith} CHASSIS. OPEN TOURING BODY. X7830 X7380 Be sure you do not have any more ironmongery on this subframe than is necessary. Where the body can have good cross member one would think we need not have an iron one. I do not understand the cross member with passes over the battery. If it could have a waist just near the battery one would think it should be parallel this section or taper slowly towards the sides, or better still not be used at all in this position. Does Mr. Sidgreaves wish for this type of body? Is it of any Sales value? I thought a real Sports, or all-weather, are the only types saleable. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
