To RHC. {R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} c.c. Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /RMW. X.4383 - GOSHAWKAero EngineCodename for 20HP Car / Aero Engine after KestrelAero Engine DYNAMOS. Herewith we hand you dynamo 604. This is the machine that was removed from the 11GII unit of 4GII, when dynamo D was put on that chassis. This 604 dynamo was stated not to be noisy on 4GII and we had sent it to EP. {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} in return for a noisy one, No.625, to which you have recently fitted the cast iron end bracket. EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} , however, states that this 604 dynamo is also noisy, having tried it on several different chassis. We would now like you to have this dynamo put on 7GII for temporary trial, removing for the present dynamo R3 which is at present thereon. This R3 dynamo being stated to be not quite satisfactory, we are anxious to have this back on the bench and correct it. Subsequently if we find 604 to be noisy, we wish to try in it one of the armatures with two coils per slot, two of which we have already instructed for trial. EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} Handwritten text: x 4383 E.F.C. EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} - Dynamo 604 fitted to 7GII & Dynamo R3 Passed to you as requested. JHC | ||
