W/S - Whr.{Mr Wheeler} C. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} C. to P. for Ps. C. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ✓ C. to D/BP. X4117 Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}15/W26.8.26. Chassis No. 115-MC - Mr. Poberejsky. Psll/Crn25.8.26. Re Overoiling complaint. After discussing this matter with Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} we have formed the opinion that in all probability the cure of this trouble lies in attention to the Engine Bearings. A full technical description and complete data of the maximum amount of oil which must be allowed to pass the Bearings, together with a complete description of the testing methods, have been supplied by the Experimental Dept. to Paris. If attention is given to the fit of the Bearings, and the Engine passes through the oil tests satisfactorily, we are of the opinion that overoiling will be cured. At the same time we would recommend that in case they should be required new Pistons and Cylinders are sent. The statement that overoiling occurs after fast runs tends to prove our contention. Re Steering. A new .940" Steering Worm and Nut is being forwarded to Paris. We have recently formed the opinion, however, that unless these parts are fitted by a man who has had special training on this job damage might occur. Some days ago we wrote to Ps. on this subject, and suggested that he should send a man to be trained at the Works. If, however, there is any doubt we would recommend that a complete modified Column should be sent to overcome the trouble on this car. Will you please give these matters your consideration, and instruct us as to what should be sent to Paris to overcome these complaints? Hm.{Capt. W.
