To: Ed.{J. L. Edwards} From C.S.H. Hotel de France, Châteauroux. 9/3/30. Re the rear axle sent from Derby. We have received correspondence from Paris dated 8/3/30. and they state that up to the time of writing no news has been received of the axle. They state they are making every enquiry and are endeavouring to have it shipped to Paris as quickly as possible. We understand this axle has been sent out under temporary admission conditions, which saves about £50. We are wondering how this axle will be returned after it has been fitted on the car. Is it your intentions to repair our axle and return it to us? The present axle does not appear to have got any worse during the continued running. There is still oil leaking out from the housing bearing. We have to-day received drawings and Pro Forma invoices for some new support brackets to be fitted to the dashboard. These will be fitted in due course when they arrive. We are holding the car up to effect repairs to the front wing stays and silencer pipe, and have a general look round the car. C.S.H. | ||
