Dear Sirs, X.4215 Bleriot Cut-out. Our Experimental Dept. have requested us to obtain from you another Cut-out similar to the original sample submitted to us and same as the second one you supplied to us. With this request, they have sent us the following report:- "The first (sample) cut-out was sent to Mr.Royce for "his inspection and he kept same; the second cut-out was "fitted on a car which was sent to America. These had "plated cases. "The six cut-outs we have received from the Bleriot "Co. since they had our specification of test have black "cases (this is in accordance with our request) and an "examination of one of them, the seal of which appeared "to be broken, shows that they differ from the original "sample in the following respects:- (1) The main spring is of a different finish, shape and size, giving a stronger control. (2) The amount of winding, i.e., size of the coil, is now smaller and the resistances greater. (3) The loose auxiliary carbon contact is of too soft material and is crumbling away.
